ANDRANIK YESAYAN «FROM THE EARLY 17TH CENTURY TO THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE 18TH CENTURY»

The monograph is devoted to the history of Tavush District during 1600–1725, with particular emphasis on historical and demographic aspects. Drawing on the 1727 Extensive Defter of the Ganja-Karabakh Eyalet, it presents the settlement patterns of Armenian and Turkic communities in the district and neighbouring territories. The villages of Tavush and their tax-paying Armenian inhabitants are listed by name, alongside an account of the district’s economic conditions. The study also reflects on the history of the local Armenian principality (melikdom) and its spiritual and cultural life.

This work is intended for historians and all those with an interest in Armenian history.
