H. AVETISYAN, A. GNUNI, G. SARGSYAN, L. MKRTCHYAN, A. BOBOKHYAN „MEGALITHIC CULTURE OF ARTSAKH”

Megaliths are generally used to refer to buildings and monuments made of big stones. Usually, megaliths include menhirs (their “groves” and henges), dolmens, cromlechs, “cyclopean” structures. Megalithic monuments are especially widespread in Western Europe, but are also found in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Armenian Highlands. The present volume is dedicated to the megalithic monuments of Artsakh. Bringing together the available archaeological data, the authors attempt to show the various forms and transformations of the phenomenon in the territory of historical Artsakh. The work is intended for both specialists and broad circles of readers interested in culture, art, and history.
